SDV Medical Partners with Origami Surgical
SDV Medical is pleased to announce our partnership with Origami Surgical, a company dedicated to solving an unmet need in robotic surgery. Origami Surgical seeks to provide a safer and more eGicient environment for patients in robotic surgery by increasing surgeon autonomy and improving the operating room workflow.
Sharps lost during surgery are a growing issue. Ninety one percent of surgeons reported between 1-5 incidents of lost sharps in a 1-year period. Origami Surgical aims to change those statistics.
The solution is StitchKit. StitchKit delivers up to 6 sutures in a single pass, eliminating exposed needle transfer and the associated risks. Once suturing has been completed needles are secured in the on-board sharps container.
StitchKit not only increases autonomy of the surgeon, but significantly reduces risks associated with lost sharps and improves the outcome for the patient.
